Port Edgar, Edinburgh

United Kingdom | Comments (0) azleen @ 4:40 am

Port Edgar is a town and marina situated to the west of the Forth Road Bridge at South Queensferry. It was once a destroyer base in the inter war period under the command of Captain Cunningham (Admiral of the Fleet). Now, this place has become a busy marina with a sailing school.

Longniddry, East Lothian

United Kingdom | Comments (0) azleen @ 8:01 pm

Longniddry is a dormitory town (known as commuter town, exurb or bedroom community in US and Canada) in East Lothian, Scotland. These terms is used whereby to represent that residents sleep in these neighborhoods but mostly work elsewhere. Over 80 percent of the residents own their homes and these people are middle-class (work as professionals and managerial jobs). It was links by road and railway station (Longniddry railway station is on the North Berwick Line) to Edinburgh.

However, this place also popular with kite bugging and water sports activity such as windsurfers, kite surfers and sea kayaks mostly in summer especially at Longniddry Bents (beach just north of Longniddry). It stretches for approximately 4.5km taking in part of Seton Sands and the broad sweep of Gosford Bay. Along the beach are the remains of concrete tank traps (also known as Dragon’s teeth or Toblerone Line after the chocolate bar) erected during World War II as protection from any attempted German invasion but mostly covered by the sea grass and bushes. The Bents also is a home for a small population of water voles, grey seals and sea birds.

Travel with a Digital Camera

Uncategorized | Comments (0) webmaster @ 10:24 am

Finding the right digital camera is so difficult this days. You got too many options, period. You got everything from fashionable, compact to down right simple and cheap. Let me share with you some of my prefered (ideal) digital cam. If you don’t prefer any specific brand, then I would recommend an average, light weight and a good lense digital camera. I mean you got to practical in choosing the right digital camera. I prefer one that is light weight (top priority). Since i would be traveling most of the time, having a small, compact camera is a must. My favourite is Sony’s T100 series. Its 8 megapixel, power zoom, compact camera. The smart thing about T100 is its face detection capibility, easy menu and fun to use. Not to mention, its really small and cute. Among its strength are 5x zoom, optical image stabilization and a 3-inch LCD. Not bad for a small camera. Do you have a favourite model?

Stockholm, Sweden

Stockholm is becoming a popular destination among traditional and mainstream European travelers. Stockholm is pulling tourist not only from neighboring countries but from around the world. Getting a hold of a good Stockholm city travel guide is quite difficult these days as most travel site tend to be more focused on rich travelers only. Stockholm is simply fantastic as you got the best night life anyway in northern Europe. Adventure is the thing to go if you are in Stockholm. Take the Tivoli for example; you got the Europe’s highest free fall roller coaster (excellent but not my kind of thing). I personally won’t enjoy the free fall simply because I scared of heights but I’m sure to enjoy more than 20 other attractions Tivoli got to offer. So, head down to Stockholm and if you took some pictures, share them with me.

Fun Boat Ride At Tioman Island

Uncategorized, United States | Comments (0) webmaster @ 6:24 am

Wow! The Tioman Island boat ride was spectacular. Coral reef was only inches away from the surface and the coral fishes were even more magnificent. I wonder, those boat operators must make a lot of money sending tourist back and forth to Coral Island. Safety should be the number one when operating a tourist boat. Insurance is a must. Marine Insurance Coverage is the technical term for the Insurance industry that covers boat (large or small) incase anything happens. American Marine Insurance Service provides a good coverage and they have been around for the last 25 years or so. That speaks volume of their capability to provide a professional service to boat owners. What kind of coverage you ask? Well how about Protection & Indemnity (P&I) Liability vs. Watercraft Liability, Medical Payment Coverage, Uninsured Boater Coverage and Towing Coverage (most important I think). Marine Insurance, you just got to have it.

Salang Beach, Tioman Islands

Malaysia | Comments (0) azleen @ 10:51 pm

Salang Beach is located on the North-west of Pulau Tioman. It is the last stop for all ferry services from Tanjung Gemuk or Mersing. The resort and chalet situated not far from the Salang jetty. It takes about 5 minutes walk to reach the resort and chalet. Salang beach is the most frequented by backpackers looking for a spot of diving and cheap accommodation. Along the 700m beach there are pubs, restaurants, mini markets, snorkeling shops, dive shops, food court etc. A lot of budget chalet around the area and it comfortable enough after the day’s dive, snorkeling, swimming, island hopping and canoeing.

On my first day, I already went for snorkeling. You can rent the snorkeling gear about USD5 at the snorkeling shop near your chalet. My first spot was around the Salang beach. The crystal clear water makes me excited to discover what is underneath it. Although it is only a shallow area but it has a lot of fish and it’s colorful. So, the first day itself is already fun. Enjoy the pictures below.

New trend In International Vacation

Italy | Comments (0) webmaster @ 9:16 pm

Ah..Im feeling fresh from my recent travel to Tioman Island. The sea was clear and I got to see Napoleon Fish, 2 of them actually. While on Tioman Island I was reading a travel magazine and saw an article about Apartment rentals as an alternative to hotels. Now, I have heard of this before but the thing is its getting popular and spreading everywhere, from London to Rome. Lets take an example: Navona, Rome where you can get a 750sq ft apartment at an affordable price. A lot of information are provided online and you can even register/book online in a hassle free way. Well, if you prefer to be closer to Santa Maria in Trastevere, why not check out Trastevere in Rome where you can get athe same 750 sq ft apartment at a great price. I give thumbs up for the great site and fantastic city of Rome!.
