Temple of Edfu, Egypt

Edfu is at midway point between Luxor (115km) and Aswan (105km). The town can be reached by taxi/cruise and caleche (carriages) ride. The popular tourist destination in Edfu is The Temple of Edfu which is also known as the Temple of Horus. This temple was built in the Ptolemaic era and was the second largest temple after Karnak Temple. The construction of the temple began in the 3rd Century BCE. However, it was not completed until the 1st century BCE. This temple is the cult temple (Egyptian Tomb) with the traditional pharaonic architecture.
