De Hoop Nature Reserve
De Hoop Nature Reserve is a nature reserve in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The reserve park was near to Cape Agulhas. This place is approximately 340 kilometers square in area and famous for whale watching. De Hoop coast is a marine protected area. For your information, fishing is not permitted in this area. However, tourist can enjoy the scenery of the De Hoop by doing some other activities such as hiking and walking along the beaches. Furthermore tourists are advice not to disturb the inter-tidal ecosystem at De Hoop.
The entire length of the De Hoop coast is one of the largest marine protected areas in Africa. The reserve park has hiking trails of varying lengths, through fynbos and along the Western Cape nature reserve’s beaches which offer a fascinating view of its rich animal life such as rare humpback and Bryde whales, dolphins, porpoise and seals.
